Abstract:
Zen Master Chân Nguyên (1647-1726) was a renowned master of Đại Việt Buddhism in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. His extensive body of works reveals many practical thoughts of Buddhism and Confucianism, which were ethical standards of his time. The harmonious relationship between Confucianism and Buddhism was a prominent issue of the era, as reflected in his writings. This was also his perspective, aligning with the common thought of Đại Việt during that period.
